Electrical safety inspections were the cost of the inspection are met by the Department are only available to householders who have had foil insulation installed under the Australian Government's Home Insulation Program.
You must Provide your householder's Program Reference Number (PRN). (Householders would have received their PRN by phoning the 131 792 hot line) or through having received a letter from the department. You will not be be able to have the cost of the services met by the department if you do not include the PRN on the attached form.
Reasonable costs of any electrical repair work required to address identified electrical faults caused by the installation of foil insulation under the Home Insulation Program will be paid for by the department We will clearly document the nature of the faults (including photographs) and the repairs on our submission to the department and the time taken to complete them.
Both you and us must fill out and sign the relevant declarations contained on the Departments form and some who is authorised by you to sign this form must be available at the date of inspection.
Where pre-existing electrical faults or safety risks are identified that are NOT related to the installation of foil insulation under the Home Insulation Program, it is a matter for you and the us to discuss. the repairs required . You will need to pay for any repair work undertaken to address those faults. The department will still pay the reasonable costs of the inspection.
